Nowadays, internet can do anything and almost everything. It is just on your finger tip. You want to do business, reading newspaper, and even shopping! Unless you need a major medical intervention, then, internet is not an option. Internet also plays a major role in social-networking which allows us to find the so called long lost friends and also to meet new people! There are many types of social working nowadays, and in Malaysia, Facebook, Myspace, Tagged, Friendster and what else?? too many of them! Even blog is one of the social networks that spread throughout this very world!
There are more!
Just wanna ask your opinion, does knowing the unknown via this accommodation offered by the internet itself. Is it safe?
This is my opinion.
Actually, I don't think the idea of knowing people using this kind of aid is bad. Years ago, there is terms that we called pen pals. We know some of them and some we don't. This conservative has been transformed into a more sophisticated way using the internet called social network. Therefore I personally don't think it is a bad idea. In fact, it allows us to know them in a more secure way. It means that using this social network system, you can view their picture or any information that you need, even though there are those who lie as well, but at least, some don't.. Also, it makes us easier to contact them (clishe idea!) by seconds away.. And if we are lucky, they'll respond to our "hello" within seconds too! Isn't that great?
However, it is to be understood that we're not living in the world of Utopia, where all the good things only exist. Some might exploit this in many ways.. How they lie about themselves, profiles, fake pictures (seriously you may find thousands of Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, if you look at the profile picture... hehe) and etc. Lucky me, I'm not fond or keen to know those people (the fake Miley and Justin) unless I know them who they really are... My I rather choose not to add/approve people that I barely know.. I mean, what is the purpose of having "TOO" many friends?? I am not a celebrity (even though I am a celebrity-look-alike.. hahahaha... joking!) who have fan club, neither a public figure... 300 friends is more than enough to me.. In fact, I don't contact some of them too!! I mean, if you say hi to 10 person each day, then you need a month to say Hi to everyone in your friend list.. And it took more time to reply each and every message that they responded right??
So, I am just wondering why some people need to add 1000++ UNKNOWN friends??
Honestly, I am asking this question because I envy them but at the same time I don't really know what the relevance of doing it? Hurmmmm
